This week in shop, I worked on setting up a machine more powerful than a Raspberry Pi to run Linux. This machine is the Lenovo X1 Carbon First Gen. With an i7-3660U and 8 Gigabytes of ram, It is more than capable of running facial detection software at a respectable fps. I have only used some example facial detection python code, but I do intend on exploring full body tracking and a deep learning facial detection model eventually.
Even though I am finally able to use a GUIgui, I still prefer vim to the other options for IDEs.
